The Central Michigan Chippewas defeated the Ohio Bobcats at McQuirk Arena Saturday 72-59 to move to 3-3 in Mid American Conference play.   The Chips playing after two tough road losses finally settled down and played some good defense.  They would race out to a 35-28 halftime lead in front of 3,333 fans.   Central Michigan came into the game with a 9-9 season record to this point.   The favorite to win the Mid-American Conference in 2016 have struggled at times this season.

Needing a much needed win to get the Chippewas back on track.   They will have to pretty much win out to have a chance at the Conference title again in 2016.   If not they as least want to be playing good basketball heading into the Conference tournament for a possible NCAA Tournament bid on the line.  the Chippewas were lead by Luke Meyer and Braylon Rayson who both had 14 points.  Star guard Chris Fowler would finish with 11 points and playing some stifling defense this afternoon.

The Bobcats were lead by 6'10" center Antonio Campbell with 17 points and 12 rebounds.   They fell to 11-7 with the loss and 2-4 in MAC play.   CMU now travels to Miami who is winless in MAC play on January 26.    Head Coach Keno Davis in his fifth season with the Chippewas improved his record to 54-59.
