MOUNT PLEASANT, MI-   The Central Michigan University Chippewas defeated the Bowling Green Falcons 82-76 in Mid-American Conference action on Tuesday evening at McGuirk Arena in front of a good sized crowd.   The Chips struggling a bid in Conference play with a 2-4 record played a solid game tonight to move to 3-4 in the Northern Division before heading out on a two game road trip to Kent State and Buffalo.

Playing with the leading scorer in the entire country in NCAA Division 1 basketball Marcus Keene averaging 29.8 points a game they would not be disappointed.   Keene would hit for 28 points tonight on a off shooting night and teamed with his fellow back court mate Braylon Rayson who scored 27 points.   Also having a solid night for the Chippewas was Luke Meyer with 13 rebounds.  Leading the way for the Falcons was Rodrick Caldwell with 19 points.   The Chippewas would have a 15 point lead early in the 2nd half.

The Chippewas still have 5 remaining home games this season before starting the Mid-American Conference Tournament.   The winner of the tournament receives an automatic bid to the Big Dance the NCAA  Tournament.   Right now Keno Davis' team wants to improve each game and make a run for the regular season title.  However making a strong showing in the Conference tourney might get them a spot in the NCAA Tournament.   There is still a lot of basketball to be played in Mount Pleasant in 2017.
