Third year captain Draymond Green is the leading  candidate to be the Big Ten Conference's Player of the Year.   This Michigan State Spartan has had a career year to date in leading the Michigan State team to a first place record to this point.  The Spartans have four games remaining in their Big Ten schedule and a half game lead.   The season ending matchup at home against second place Ohio State on March 4th will go a long way to determining who will win the Big Ten Championship in 2012.

Green possesses strong leadership skills in taking charge of the team when he needs too.   Green is averaging close to 15 points per game and over 10 rebounds a game to be the leading contender.  When the team needs to be pulled up by the boot straps it is "Day Day" who takes charge.

Draymond will end up most likely as the all-time leading rebounding in Michigan State history passing Greg Kelser.   He also has scored over 1,000 points in MSU history and currently ranks third in blocked shots.   Draymond's goals this season are for the Spartans to win the Big Ten Championship and Conference Tournament and make a return trip to the Final Four this year.
