The Bay City Central Wolves made a long anticipated return to the MHSAA Football Playoffs on Friday night.  They would face the Midland Dow Chargers in Midland.   The Wolves after an 8 year absence from the playoff picture when 6-3 in the 2016 campaign to qualify for the MHSAA playoffs.

This extremely young Wolves squad led by sophomore quarterback Brian Elder Jr. and junior running back Dequez Weathers would lead the team through out the season.  Morley Fraser's squad his 31st team rebounded to a respectable 6-3 season in the tough Saginaw Valley Conference.   In speaking with Fraser prior to the game "We are young team but learning and getting better each week."

The Wolves would have to face off with Midland Dow who would have a good quarterback themselves in Bruce Mann who has started all four years on the varsity level.   Mann would prove to be the man on the night with 137 yards rushing and scoring 3 times.   He would also end up with 172 yards through the air and 2 touchdown passes.

Bay City would get scores from their two young stars.  Brian Elder would score on a short run and DeQuez Weathers would break loose for a 54 yard touchdown to give the Central fans some hope shortly before the halftime.  Dow the number 6 ranked team in Division Two seems like a favorite to make a long run to Ford Field the home of the MHSAA State Championship games.
