Lecture Series • The Ring Home & Garden - An Italian Villa in Saginaw

Posted in: Instructional

Hear from Tom Trombley, Chief Historian of the Castle Museum, for this lecture! The architect of the 1904 Elizabeth Merrill and Clark L. Ring family home, Charles A. Platt, conceived the house and its landscape as one carefully designed composition. Donated to the community in 1947, it has served as a museum far longer than it did as a private home. This tour will explore the early history of the building and garden and help participants imagine what it would have been like to visit the Ring family in their new home in the first decade of the twentieth century. Free with cost of admission. SAM members and Castle Members have free admission. Regular admission is $7.00 for adults / $5.00 for students and seniors / Children are free. 1:00 - 1:45 PM. Saginaw Art Museum 1126 N. Michigan Ave. Phone: (989) 754-2491
