In his new biography, Hendrik (Hank) Meijer explores the life of Michigan’s most significant senator. Moving from isolationist leader prior to World War II to become an architect of American world leadership through the United Nations, the Marshall Plan and NATO, Vandenberg helped define America’s role as a global superpower and became, in the process, an icon of bipartisan cooperation.
