The 2019 Saginaw District Golf Tournament was held Friday, June 21st through Sunday, June 23rd, with the Open, Legends, and Senior Division champions crowned yesterday at The Sawmill golf course. 36 golfers competed for the Open Division and 15 for the Legends Division titles, with Adam Jacobs winning the Open Division by 1 shot over Adam Haswell.
Haswell shot 3-under 69 and came from 11 shots back to finish as runner-up, while this is Adam Jacobs second title - he also won at The Sawmill when the tournament was played there in 2016.
In the Senior Division the winner was Dan Hughes, who won by 4 shots over Andy Bethune. This is Hughes third Senior title, which he last won in 2009.
Mark Sikorski secured top honors in the Legends Division and won after a 2-hole playoff defeating John Kowalewski. John Kowalewski shot a 75 to get into the playoff. This is Mark's 1st Legends Title.
Defending champion Matt Pumford came in at third place this year, six-strokes behind the runner-up.
Since 1955, the Saginaw District Golf Association's Invitational Tournament has been the premier amateur golf event in Saginaw County. The sole purpose of the annual Tournament is to determine the best amateur golfers in Saginaw County. For over half a century, the SDGA has been actively working to continue and improve this tradition.
