24th Annual Review Music Awards Update

By Robert E. Martin

The nomination process for our 24th annual Review Music Awards is off to a solid start; and I’d like to thank all the fans & readers that have thus far taken the time to nominate all the artists they feel have made solid contributions to the cultural climate of the Tri-Cities over the past year.

We will be accepting nominations for another two weeks, but wanted to take a moment to address a few questions we’ve received concerning the balloting.

First, when you go online to our website at www.review-mag.com to vote and click the respective categories, if you do not see the artist’s name already listed that you wish to vote for, simply enter the name of the nominee that you’d like to see appear, so it can be added to the roster.

Once a nominee is registered, if you see that artist’s name listed, you can simply click the button to register your vote for that artist, which saves a lot of time and confusion on our end shifting through massive lists of emails for duplicated nominees.

Once you have nominated an artist in a particular category or division, a ‘thank you for voting’ window will pop up, as we only count one vote per computer or I.P address to eliminate problems associated with ‘ballot stuffing’.

What this means is that if you are voting on a ‘work’ computer and somebody else has already used that computer to vote, you will have to use your personal computer at home in order to nominate.

We have worked out an agreement with The Prime Event Center to host the 2010 Music Awards, and more details will be announced as we proceed into the second stage of voting after the nomination deadline on February 18th.

Watch for more updates in future issues of The Review.
