Cancer Society Benefit Scheduled at The Prime Event Center Jan. 15

Great Lakes Harley-Davidson in Bay City has been asked by Fred Pickering of Midland to help him with the unveiling of the Diamond P Chopper, which will serve as The American Cancer Society Memorial Chopper.

The unveiling will occur at a special event scheduled for January 15th at The Prime Event Center in Bay City.

The Builders of this custom chopper are none other than Vinnie DiMartino and Cody Connelly formerly of the TV show “American Chopper”.  Vinnie and Cody now have their own Custom Bike Shop named V-Force Customs (www.VForceCustoms.com)

“As a motorcycle rider and the Sales Manager at Great Lakes Harley-Davidson in Bay City, I would like to say this event is about Harleys, Choppers, and Vinnie & Cody, but it’s not!” states Joe Yax.

This event is about raising money for the American Cancer Society.  I think this is a great opportunity to really bring Cancer awareness to the front page.  I believe all of us have been affected by cancer in one-way or another, and would like to help but often just don’t know how.

By attending this event and making a donation to the American Cancer Society we will all be helping in the research and hopefully a cure in the near future.”

Vinnie DiMartino and Cody Connelly of V-Force Customs, LLC will be starting a custom chopper build this month for Fred Pickering dubbed as 'Diamond P'.

This custom chopper will be a memorial to the American Cancer Society (ACS); dedicated to every cancer survivor, and every loved one who is fighting cancer and those we have lost to cancer.

“The name chosen for this chopper, Diamond P, has many meanings,” notes Yax. “It is a logo used on Pickering’s company wreckers and equipment; the “P” stands for Pickering and the diamond represents the glimmer of hope that every cancer patient and their families have during the fight to survive - the sparkle of life every smile brings through all the hard times and the shine in every survivors’ eyes.”

Every day, the ACS helps provide support and hope to those affected by cancer through amazing programs like the Relay for Life and Make A Wish Foundation along with the generous donations of many.

"I chose Vinnie and Cody of V-Force Customs to build this special bike because of their original ideas to the design of a bike and their attention to details," said Fred Pickering.

“We are truly honored to have the opportunity to be involved in such a meaningful project for Fred. We have some great ideas for this bike and can’t wait to turn his vision into a reality,” adds Vinnie of V-Force Customs.

Photo updates will be made as the bike build progresses. As a tribute to those who are no longer with us and those who have survived, the Diamond P chopper will be nothing short of remarkable.

If you would like to sign the Diamond P wall memorial, please visit and feel free to write the name of your loved one at www.DiamondPChopper.com

"Again, this bike is not for me,” concludes Pickering,  “it is dedicated to everyone who has a loved one fighting, lost a loved one, or who has a loved one who has survived the fight.
