Michigan Galaxy Pageant comes to Saginaw County by Debra Defoe Saginaw County will be the home of the Michigan Galaxy Pageants for the March, 2010 production, representing a major coup for the local fashion industry. The Galaxy International Pageant was founded in 1999 by Dr. Lori Oliver who envisioned a regal, international ceremony celebrating beauty, culture and style – three elemental points of the expressive triangle - and soon created the Mrs. Galaxy, Miss Galaxy and Miss Teen Galaxy pageants. From this concept, Maria Torres took over the system in 2005 and continues this vision today working to maintain the legacy that Dr. Oliver created. Formerly held in the Flint area, the company of 3D Productions, MI will bring the Michigan Galaxy Pageants to Saginaw County effective with the 2010 production to be held in March at a new venue in Saginaw County. The Michigan Galaxy Pageants embrace the vision of the Galaxy International Pageants by continuing their mission of emphasizing beauty, style and cultural appreciation, presenting a personal development opportunity for women of all nations. The delegates gain confidence and poise in an increasingly competitive world while receiving opportunities to grow and advance their personal and career goals, acting as a role model within their community. The opportunity to compete in the Michigan Galaxy Pageant is open to all females residing in the state of Michigan, ages 6 and up and there will be seven crowns up for grabs next March. The categories are as follows; Mrs., Ms., Miss, Miss Teen, Jr. Miss, Miss Pre-Teen and Little Miss Michigan Galaxy. The areas of competition vary by title and include Interview, Evening Wear, Photogenic, Fashion Wear and Swimsuit (Teen and up). Delegates will carry themselves with poise, dignity and grace and project an image of beauty and elegance. They will be able to express themselves clearly, project a sense of style and exemplify a lifestyle of physical, emotional and intellectual health. 3D Productions, MI is currently securing venues for the theater, delegate hotels, visitor hotels, florists, sponsors, and for the many various titles and prize packages and is looking forward to the added revenue that the 2-3 day event will bring to the county. Even more, the Michigan Galaxy Pageants will add a wonderful, new and exciting event for all in the area to enjoy.
