21st Annual Review Music Awards
Schedule & Itinerary
By Robert E. Martin On behalf of all the Staff from past & present, I cannot begin to adequately express the anticipation and emotion surrounding The Review's 21st Annual Music Awards Ceremony & Celebration, which will be happening on Monday evening May 7th at Sullivan's Black Forest Brew Haus & Grill in Frankenmuth.
It has been a difficult time for me,
with the sudden passing of my Mother, Jessie. She was truly the glue
that worked for 20 years behind the scenes, handling many of the
'thankless' tasks that hold this event together such as typing up
nominee cards, and tabulating ballots (which was done before the
Internet & online voting, when each ballot had to be counted by hand.
Needless to say, I wish to dedicate this year's Awards Ceremony to her
memory.
We have received many calls asking
about food service the evening of the Ceremony, and Sullivan's
will be serving up a wonderful short-order menu, economically priced,
including items such as Subs, Hoagies, Pizza, Burgers, and the like.
Below we have a breakdown of the
evening's festivities:
5:00 - 6:00 PM * MINING GOLD: Video Highlight Retrospective of the Review Music Awards. Performance Highlights from 1987-2006. 6:00 - 6:10 PM * Opening Remarks 6:10-6:25 PM * JAZZ AWARDS 6:25 - 7:00 PM * BRYAN ROMBALSKI & 3 WORLDS. A past Review awards winner, the music of Bryan Rombalski is as expansive as it is prolific - as delicately balanced with intricacy and simplicity as life itself. Truly one of the great original talents and exponents of progressive Jazz in the Tri-City area. 7:00 - 7:15 PM * JAZZ AWARDS CONTINUED 7: 15 - 7-45 PM * THE CRAIG JOHN BAND This group has traveled the road from Nashville to the Mid-Michigan area and beyond. They've got the 'entire package' and we trust you will enjoy it! 10:00 - 10:20 PM * MISCELLANEOUS & 'NEW' AWARD CATEGORIES 10:20 - 10:50 PM * TENSION HEAD Garnering enthusiasm and support for their intense and full-throttled approach to music, the sound of Tension Head is incisive, all-consuming, and impossible to ignore.
