Frankenmuth Businessman Scott Rausch Hooks up with Kid Rock

Frankenmuth businessman & entrepreneur Scott Rausch had an unexpected guest stop by his summer home, Anne Cottage, on Mackinac Island on July 18th for a personal tour and some cold beer. Detroit's favorite son, Kid Rock, performed live at Boyne Mountain on July 16th and decided to tour Mackinac Island during the Chicago to Mackinac Annual Sail Boat Race.

"I saw him taking a carriage ride and shouted a few observations," explained Rausch on the meeting. "He questioned my choice of words, but I told him that's how he talks on his records!", joked Rausch. "Basically, I told him to get out of the carriage and come up to my place for a cold beer."
Kid Rock spent the better part of the afternoon with Rausch on the roof of his cottage, an advantage point that overlooks the straights of Mackinac and the Harbor, perfect for viewing the races.
"What impressed me most is his  'what you see is what you get' attitude," said Rausch. "He even programmed his direct telephone line to my cell phone so we could keep in touch. Plus he left a message and autograph on my son's bedroom wall after he talked to him on our two-way phone from the roof. He's a great guy, and I think because we both worked hard to achieve our mutual success was a definite bonding point."
Ah yes, the joys of Michigan, rock 'n roll, and cold beer on a summer afternoon!
