19th Annual Review Music Award Update & Program

By Robert E. Martin

With less than 3-weeks to go before The Review's gala 19th Annual Music Awards celebration, the excitement is heating up amongst the staff like a vintage tube amplifier anticipating sonic glory - in other words, we have a really exceptional show planned this year.
Given the elaborate nature of this type of production, we need to keep you in the loop and fill you in on some great new developments.

Room Availability at Davenport Inn

First, thanks to the generosity and commitment to the success of this endeavor, Peter Shaheen has offered to make rooms available to out-of-town musicians, nominees, spouses, families and fans of this event at the Davenport Inn for only $50.00 .

Additionally, the D.I. will provide a shuttle service that will drive out-of-town guests back & forth to the Awards Ceremony, which will be held at Shooter's of Saginaw on Monday, May 2nd.
Anybody interested in booking a room should phone the Davenport Inn at
(989) 793-7900.  Please ask for the 'Review Music Awards' package.

You're Probably Wondering . . .

Fans of the Awards Ceremony that have followed its 19-year history know that in the past we have staged this event over the years at different venues from a single stage, with the exception of last year.

Last year was our first year of hosting the Awards Show at Shooters, and coupled with the fact is was also the 25th anniversary of The Review, we decided to try something bold & different and present the event from two separate stages, thereby allowing us to showcase more entertainment.

While this was an ambitious goal, it did prove to be too chaotic from a production standpoint; therefore, this year we are going back to hosting the event from a single stage, augmenting the excitement & visibility for those in the 'bar area' of Shooter's with simulcast live video feeds into the entire television bank that feeds Shooters.
Sound high tech & exciting?
Trust me, it is.

19th Review Music Awards Program

It's always a challenge to keep a program of this nature fresh and reflective of the ever-changing soundscape of the Mid-Michigan music scene; but I am particularly proud of the varied show we have in store at this year's Awards Ceremony.
