BUBBA-PALOOZA
The Tri-Cities Come Together
To Honor Bob 'Bubba' Grundner

I am sure that you or
someone you know has faced the sad and frightening diagnosis of cancer. On
October 17th, we will honor Bob 'Bubba' Grundner, along with his
young children and many friends with an event to raise funds to help Bob with
his mounting medical bills and living expenses, while he engages in the fight
for his life.
Bob has been battling small cell lung cancer that is threatening to take him
from those who know him and would be deeply saddened by the death of a father,
son, brother and friend.
Here is a little history on Bob to help you gain a feel for the unique and
irreplaceable person you would be helping. Bob grew up in Bay City and graduated
from
Central High School.
While Bob was at Central High, he was the Drum Major for the Marching Band
during his junior and senior years. During that time Bob and a fellow drummer
rewrote the drum cadences for the marching band, which are still being played to
this day.
Because of his love of music Bob continued on to SVSU to study percussion
and music theory and at served as drummer for the SVSU Jazz Band. He was
the driving force behind the band while they toured Europe under the direction
of the late Dr. Charlie Brown. After college he played with bands such as
Rare Earth, The Mark Farner Band (formerly Grand Funk Railroad) and several
local Michigan bands.
After he left Michigan he moved to Nashville, Tenn. He soon became an
accomplished studio drummer and toured with Dolly Parton. Missing his
family and friends he moved back to Michigan.
Bob is only 47-years old and is not ready to leave this earth yet. And we are
not ready to let him go. Please find it in your heart to join us at Tommy
K's on Sunday, October 17th and help Bob alleviate some of the
pressures of mounting medical debt and living expenses. We want our friend to
enjoy this time and not worry through it.
Guest artists will
include Larry McCray, The Brush/Lopez Group, Count 'n Change, Maybe August,
The Jeff Hall Band, and Marty Viers & the Music Doctors. Tickets are
$10.00. Doors open at noon and the bands start at 2 PM. Plenty of excellent
food will be available, a cash bar, and silent & live auctions.
If you would like to donate a door prize, please contact Lynn Stazak at
989-684-3181. This event will be memorable and we hope you will attend.
Sincerely,
Family & Friends
