IN  DEFENSE  OF  MULTIPLE  STAGING

Dear Editor;

I would like to respond to the comments in your last 'Music Award Special Edition' to people not enjoying the 'two-stage' concept at this year's Music Awards.

Simply put, there is no way we could have seen that many performers in one night on the stage giving that much of a show on their behalf. How unfulfilling for an artist to set up, plug in, and perform for two songs and then be done. These performers had a chance to put on a show for the crowd, and for some of them the first time to be seen by many in the business.

Two stages were developed for maximum exposure and entertainment for the audience and performers. Sure there were times when sounds overlapped, but that can be fixed.

When it is all said and done you have to remember the response to SASA's performance. It literally filled the entire building and gave these young artists something they will not soon forget, and all of us, also.

I find it hard to believe that if all of the performers would have had one stage to perform on all night, that this group and many more would not have had the time they needed to command the crowd. And SASA did just that.

Congratulations,

Dan Ballard
