Pascal Roge's worldwide performances have established him as one of the most exciting international artists of the decade and a worldwide ambassador of the French repertoire. He will perform with Maestro Woods and the Midland Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Feburary 3 at 8:00 PM.

The fourth concert of the Midland Symphony season entitled The French View, will include Chabrier's Espana; Debussy's La Mer, Saint-Saens' Piano
Concerto No. 5 'Egyptian featuring Mr. Roge', and Ravels' La Valse.  This event is sponsored by Citizens Bank

 
Following his recital debuts in London  & Paris at the age of 17, Pascal

Roge' made his first recording for Decca. Shortly thereafter he became an

exclusive Decca artist, a collaboration which has produced over 20

recordings. His recordings of the two Ravel concerti with Charles Dutoit

and the Montreal Symphony was awarded a Grand Prix du Disque and an Edison

Award. He has also received two Gramophone awards: in 1988, Best

Instrumental Recording for his CD of the piano works of Poulene: in 1997,

Best Chamber Music Recordings for his CD of the chamber works of Ravel.

Other recordings feature a Debussy cycle, a Bartok cycle with the London

Symphony Orchestra, and an award-winning version of the complete

Saint-Saens piano concerti with Charles Dutoit.
Pascal Roge' has performed in almost every major concert hall in the world.

Some of the orchestras with which he has appeared include the Montreal

Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Royal Concertgebouw, Vienna Symphony, NHK

Symphony Orchestra (Tokyo) and all other major London orchestras.
Roge' made his United States debut in 1974. Since then he has returned

almost every season, appearing in both recital and concert. Recent

activities include his debut at the London 'Proms' with the BBC Symphony,

extensive tours of Southeast Asia and Latin America with l'Orchestre

National de France, a tour of New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Taiwan with

the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and his fifteenth recital tour of Japan.
This February 3 concert will be held at the Midland Center for the Arts

Auditorium (on the corner of Eastman Rd. and West St. Andrews, Midland).

The evening begins at 7:15 pm in the Main Auditorium with a Prelude

conversation with Maestro Woods and Mr. Roge', followed by the concert at

8:00 pm.
Pascal Roge' will sign his recordings following the performance, which will

be on sale in the lobby throughout the evening. Admission is $25 for adults

and $10 for students. Student tickets are half price the day of the concert.
