Taking Issue with the Notion Of ‘Free Energy’

Dear Mr. Martin

As a staunch fan of Nikola Tesla, I must respond to your recent article on filmmaker Jim Cherry. I fully realize you will not appreciate my comments, and chances of this letter appearing in print are nil (or edited, as practiced by The Saginaw News). In fact, this article reminds of the ‘News’ headline story on the ‘Bupp-mobile’.

To start, the comment about Tesla being for DC current and Edison for AC is just backwards. Edison was  the one that wanted to electrify the U.S. with DC. Tesla did understand the drawbacks and dangers of DC, and he prevailed with AC. The hydroelectric energy plan at Niagara Falls is Tesla’s engineering.-

The contributions of Tesla are well documented; not so with John Hutchison.  The terminology used in describing his “effect” is hoaky & meaningless. Who takes credit for those descriptions; you or Mark Solis? Errors of fact, such as the definition of absolute zero, further punch holes in the credibility of the article. Statements implying “free energy”, and “don’t need to conserve energy” are pie in the sky; you don’t get something for nothing. (Although a nuclear fusion reactor is something to strive for.)

As a filmmaker, I acknowledge that Jim Cherry has some artistic freedoms.  But don’ pass it off as science, and don’t feed it to middle school children. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Don Storck

Hemlock

Editor’s Reply:

I sincerely apologize for the mistake of aligning Tesla with AC and Edison with DC current.  My memory, which proved to be faulty, associated Edison with  the economics of Europe which mainly uses DC current, and I should have double-checked.

As for the remainder of your comments, I asked Jim Cherry (who is out west working on the completion of his film) to reply. This is what he said:

“Anybody who knows a lick about Tesla knows that is why J.P. Morgan got rid of Tesla - because he was working on free energy. Tesla was working on so many projects that Morgan wanted him to concentrate on moving current from land past the sea and Tesla said, ‘No problem’, only Marconi did it first and losing the patent rights ticked Morgan off.

“Einstein said we could have electricity to every place in the world, everywhere, only the corporate energy financiers never called him back because they were not interested in free energy. Einstein said this was a big mistake - not attributing oneself to nature.”

“People who don’t believe in zero point are not looking at established probability factors, nor at the work that Tesla and Hutchison have accomplished. But like was noted in the article and in my film,  power companies are not interested in providing solar, wind, or geo-thermal power because they can’t make a profit from it .and that is why they aren’t interested in circulating the truth about Hutchison and Tesla.

“Free energy IS power and it was right in front of Edison’s face.”
